How loading meters are calculated
One loading meter (LDM) is 1 metre of deck length across the standard 2.4 m width. Formula: length (m) × width (m) ÷ 2.4. A EUR pallet (1.2 × 0.8 m) takes 0.4 LDM, an industrial pallet (1.2 × 1.0 m) 0.5 LDM and a mini pallet (0.8 × 0.6 m) 0.2 LDM.
Stackable goods divide the LDM by the number of layers. A standard semi-trailer has 13.6 LDM: 34 theoretical EUR pallet places (33 in practice).
